The tool measures environmental, social and economic sustainability impacts. The dashboard is broken down into 12 sustainability issues, in addition to awards.

Use our interactive Sustainability Dashboard below to explore what we measure:

Interactive graphs - Track your project carbon over time and its breakdown using our interactive graphs. For instance, are emissions from deliveries the largest contributor to your project emissions?

Indicators - Benchmark your total project CO2e and embodied carbon against spend or project area using our indicators.

Environmental Management

Interactive graphs - Easily track your project audits and the certification of your suppliers, alongside your non-conformities and any enforcements.

Indicators - Our 7 Environmental Management indicators will allow you to monitor your incidents, audits, proportion of open corrective actions, days lost due to non-compliance and enforcements.

Interactive graphs - Track your project total waste generated over time and its destination breakdown using our interactive graphs. For instance, is most of your waste diverted from landfill being recycled or reused?

Indicators - Monitor your progress against your project waste diverted from landfill target. You can also set targets and track your project's progress against more detailed indicators - % waste recycled or % waste re-used. You can also benchmark your total project waste produced by spend or area.

Interactive graphs - Track your project's potable water use over time, as well as your use of abstracted water compared to your limit.

Indicators - Our 6 indicators include:

  • Confidence of achieving operational water
  • Proportion of project water that is potable water
  • Proportion of project water that is recovered water
  • Water consumption per period
  • Water abstraction per period
  • Built environment water per area

Interactive graphs - Track the procurement of secondary or certified materials, including timber and aggregate. Instantly visualise your progress against targets over time.

Indicators - Our 6 indicators give you an instant view of where you are against your certification and secondary materials targets.

Interactive graphs - Track your confidence in enhancing site ecology, as well as your days lost and enforcements.

Indicators - Track your performance against confidence in enhancing ecology and where there are issues, such as enforcements, days lost or fines.

Interactive graphs - These give you an overall picture of how your projects are interating with the local community. Are you receiving complaints or compliments? How often are you engaging with the community over time?

Indicators - Our indicators allow you to instantly view your performance against any complaints, days lost targets or engagement targets.

Interactive graphs - Track the profile of your onsite workforce, from apprentices to how many are paid the living wage, from the percentage who are local to the proportion that are BAME. These graphs will help you visualise how your projects are contributing to the skills gap in the Built Environment industry, as well as the broader profile of people on your sites over time.

Indicators - Our 6 indicators allow you to view your progress against targets in:

  • Apprentices
  • Employees being paid the living wage
  • Local workforce
  • Trainees
  • Those on traineeship programmes
  • Previously unemployed workforce

Interactive graphs - Our graphs allow you to track your spend and supplier profile over time. How much are you spending in the local area? How many SMEs have you procured from this period?

Indicators - Our 11 indicators allow you to go into as much or little detail about your procurement as you need to. Track spend with local and SME companies, as well as tracking their success rate in your tender process.

Air Quality

Interactive graphs and indicators - Track your clean vehicles and plant onsite over time, which will help you understand your impact on local air quality.

Performance against Objectives and Targets

Our tool is unique. It is designed to help companies manage the sustainability performance of the supply chain against project objectives, corporate objectives and contractual KPIs.

It enables data to be gathered at the level it is generated, sometimes deep in the supply chain but it is summarised at all levels of the organisation with simple dashboards to show the RAG (Red, Amber, Green) status of each sustainability impact selected.

It is designed to be used after the award of a contract.

Sustainable supply - not ticking boxes

There are many platforms on the market that assist buyers in making procurement decisions by gathering information about suppliers. This is a necessary first step to help you understand how sustainable your supplier is. However, this is only part of the picture.

To complete the picture it is necessary to develop your supply chain through the Supply Chain Sustainability School, then measure the performance of each supplier on every project. The Sustainability Tool does this in a remarkably efficient way and provides clear performance information to be used at every level from site manager to CEO.
